Project 2 : Final models

I have created three sets of model and they are included in final submission. The three set of model is moveable, can be held to look the shape.

First set of model : shows the geometry system of the house. The model is cutted into different piecce of geometry to present the shape of each geometry. Along with the diagram-like to give the better image to the geometry. Different colour show different sapce, ie white is private space and blue is public space.

Second set of model : shows the relationship of public and private space. the model is cutted into three section showing the different space. This is to show better image of how the three spaces fit in together. And as well can see in the diagram aside a model, the publich space is connected and stayin a group give the imply of publicity. Whereas private are is in different position and opposite direction to give the sense of privatecy.

Third set of model : shows circulation of the house. The model shows all the possible ways where people and circulate throught the house. From courtyard to the house and from the house public area to more private ares hence the circulation between public to more private sapce. As we can see from the model, there are a great connection between each space in the house. Eventhought Siza really give attention to private sapce and different to public he also create a connection between each space by having lots of doors and windows. This is to unite the house house and family. The blue and white colour also represent public and private sapce of the house.

Project 2 : Final Drawing

The final drawings which is included in final submission. I have created THREE drawing to present the idea of three persepective which are 1)Geometry System 2)Relationship between prublic to more private space and 3)Circulation

The first drawing : Geometry system : In  this drawing I show the 3 main different geometry which is used in as a foundation of the building which are circle, triansle and rectangle. Each piecec of Geometry is in different size and orientation. By subtracting and adding them as show in the drawing, the main part of the house is created. The geometry system also link to the idea of public and private sapce. Looking at the diagram in the drawing (the lower part) I show the two spaces which is created by different geometry.

The second drawing : Relationship between public and private space : The drawing show main spaces which are devided into publich and private sapce. Start from bottom, The main public space which is the courtyard then move up to the main house which is now considered to be more private space and in this private space, I can also divide it into more private sapce and another can be considered as public.(Public space > Private space > More private sapce > public space underneath the main private space)

The third drawing : Circulation : this drawing show the circulation thought the house and courtyard. The firat diagram shows the circulation in the courtyard to the house, shaping the idea of moving through public space to private space. (courtyard to house)In the lower diagram it shows the circulation in the house. I used different gradient of colour to show the different amoung of circulation going through in a spot. Darker represent less circulation throught and softer represent more circulation. And the public and private' circulation space is presented in contrast. In this case, for private space, darker means less circulation. But for public space darker mean more circulation. This is to give to idea of contrast of the two different space and area.

Project 2 : Draft Drawing

These are the draft drawing imlpementing the idea towards project 2.

I chose to do Antonio Carlos Siza House since I had an basic understanding of the house in the previous assignment. Choosing this architecture for project 2 will be advantage. Also Siza really emphasize the relationship and connection between public and private space and he shows that really well thought his implementation to the design. Understand his depth of perception, I believe will create a greater understanding in term of desingin in architecture which might be benefit for next project.

The first drawing is to show to idea of geometry which is subteacted and added to create an main structure of the house.

The second drawing is an axonometric drawing whole the private and public space of the house.

The third drawing shows the circulation throught the house and courtyard.

The forth drawing shows the circulation of public and private space in the house.

And the last diagram is to show to over all public and private space of the house.

Also the perspective sketches to give support the idea of realtionship between public and private spaces.
